Hurst Rethink

The great Hurst Rethink: A debate about how the pandemic has created an opportunity to shape our world.

When we first produced this event during the lockdown in 2020 we had no idea that the event would lead to so much support and interest for something BIGGER than just a debate.

In fact it lead to the birth of a community group focused on living a more sustainable life as individuals and as a village. Two years on and it has 5 working initiatives under the headings Transport, Greener consumer, Green Energy, Biodiversity and Community.

Run by myself and fellow founder Charlotte Snook, we continue to hold annual debates whilst running campaigns within each if the initiatives. Keeping us busy and out of trouble the group’s next step will be a focus on working with neighbouring villages to develop and roll out an ambitious Community Energy project.

Slow the Flow

And to see how our production wing is working alongside our event team to produce community focused content, take a look at this short film we produced for local environment group HKD Transition.

Entitled ‘Slow The Flow’ the film was shot in Hassocks, West Sussex, and explores the challenge of reducing flooding caused by increased rainfall/climate change and the local solutions that can be found.
